Advanced nuclear is challenged to design and construct on short timelines, with smaller budgets and fewer workers. Digitalization can help companies overcome these constraints. Unfortunately, a digital twin (DT) is often presented as a monolith. This results in organizations abandoning DTs as having benefits that are minimal or unrealized in time. Many perceive DTs as too large an undertaking to even begin. However, digitalization isn't a track meet; it's a marathon of incremental milestones. And, like all races, it has a starting line. This session will summarize a journey that Argonne National Laboratory and Implexus Lab made to digitize the Mechanisms Engineering Test Loop (METL), a test facility for advancing sodium fast reactors. Components were designed with Inventor software and assembled in Navisworks software, and AutoCAD software generated construction documents. Integrating with Revit provided a DT foundation. Ultimately, the suite of Autodesk tools enabled the creation of a DT boasting live data visualization within a virtual reality (VR) environment.

Alliances and frameworks are increasingly key procurement vehicles to facilitate large-scale delivery with multiple contractors supporting the delivery of a common goal. We'll discuss how our experience of alliance and framework contracts has been enhanced through using the Autodesk Build software and the integration possibilities enabled by the open API Autodesk Build Service. We'll demonstrate how Autodesk Docs software enables contractors to share information, capture collaborative lessons learned, and use standardized details—and the program, cost, and quality benefits that this creates for clients. In this talk, we'll discuss transparency between contractors as well as the trust and confidence that Autodesk and OpenSpace can provide to clients. With one eye on the future, we'll also explore the potential game-changing impact that Autodesk Informed Design software could have on contractor collaboration through safe sharing of intellectual property in design.

Data Exchange has launched an Open Ecosystem of Connectors that enable interoperability between the myriad of apps you use every day. Imagine packaging a subset of your model in Revit software—and shipping it through Autodesk Docs software to a colleague in another firm who uses Rhino software! Well, that's possible with Data Exchange. But Revit and Rhino are just the first two connectors we've launched—there are connectors for Inventor, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, Power BI, and many more! In this class, we'll provide an overview of Data Exchange capabilities today, and in the future. We'll explore case studies of how lighthouse customers are using this new cloud capability. And we'll talk about tips and tricks to get you started quickly! You'll hear directly from customers about workflow solutions for coordination, data validation, automation, and even native element creation. The Autodesk 2024 Design and Make report showcases that 77% of companies report that upskilling employees is important. They also report they lack resources needed to design training programs. The Design and Make report also reflects that between 2021 and 2023 there's been a 143% increase in Autodesk's Media and Entertainment certification adoption, a 71% increase in AECO certification adoption, and a 100% increase in Autodesk's Design and Make certification adoption. Using Power Automate, project management tasks in Autodesk Construction Cloud are automated, reducing team members' workloads. Power BI is then used to analyze data collected from Autodesk Construction Cloud, providing real-time insights into project progress and performance for swift decision making. Additionally, in family creation, collaboration with domestic equipment manufacturers facilitates semiautomated creation of families with manufacturer specifications. Integration with Inventor software streamlines the creation of equipment parts like support steel, further enhancing the efficiency of the family creation process. Finally, the created families are managed in a database within Power BI, contributing to improved project productivity.

IPCO's Common Data environment - Key lessons learned moving into one common Vault enabling global product development and production, encompassing PDM/PLM and ERP integration. The journey from local Vault setups, individual working methods and applications to one common Vault enabling global product development, and collaboration, global production, and seamless product information sharing. With the Common Data environment project, IPCO created the platform for implementing PLM in areas such as Change Management and Quality Management as well as global integration to ERP. IPCO will share their experiences how to drive this type of project, potential pit falls and lessons learned.

While it's common knowledge that additive manufacturing (AM) has become an integral tool in product development, it can be difficult to know how to fit AM into your workflow. In this talk, we'll discuss how to effectively use AM to accelerate product development and prepare designs to ramp up to production. We will include an overview of the common additive technologies and materials currently used by product designers, and look at the advantages and disadvantages of each from a product development perspective. Building on this overview, we'll discuss example workflows and case studies where additive manufacturing was used effectively to reduce time to market and mitigate process and design risk.

Creating custom bridge parts ready for modeling transportation projects in InfraWorks software can be challenging for the uninitiated. This class will provide the chance to learn how to create these parts using both the Revit and Inventor methodologies from scratch in a hands-on environment. We will look at the benefits of each method and how each can be incorporated into a transportation project and progressed through the workflow from modeling in InfraWorks to the documentation phase in Revit. These techniques will be worked through in the context of bridge engineering, but they will also be applicable to tunneling.
